Hay is produced from grass, and grass pollen is the most common culprit for producing hay fever symptoms, but tree pollen, flower pollen, and fungal spores (the fungus equivalent of pollen) also produce the same symptoms. Allium Cepa 30c can be really helpful if there is a lot of sneezing and streaming from eyes and nose. Again, the nasal discharge may cause soreness. The patient will feel better outside in the fresh air.
Euphrasia 30c is beneficial. Use this remedy for lots if sneezing and streaming of the eyes and nose. There’s often a sensation of burning in the eyes, and some sensitivity to the light.
Alongside the hay fever if there is also a tendency to sun burn as well then Nat Mur can be a helpful remedy to try, especially if the symptoms make the patient feel miserable and uncomfortable. This is often accompanied by streaming discharge from the eyes and nose with lots of sneezing, though the discharge thickens resulting in a loss of taste and smell.
Nux Vomica is associated with irritability as well as lots of sneezing and streaming from the eyes and nose. Pulsatilla should be used if the patient is weepy, needy and has thickly yellowish discharges especially with a blocked nose.
